MadonnaVelo Confidence Course
The MadonnaVelo Confidence Course is held over four weekly sessions, and is aimed at all women who would like to improve their bike handling skills and confidence in a safe, non-threatening environment. Whether you’ve never ridden your road bike, or ridden it a couple of times and found it too hard and parked it in the garage, or have been riding for months, and looking to improve, or have been riding for years but always looking for new tips, and new riding buddies, the MadonnaVelo confidence class is for you. In other words, there is something in it for everyone! Over the four weeks, I will equip you with the skills necessary to ride safely and confidently on the road in low traffic environments, both on your own and in a group. We cover starting efficiently, braking efficiently, emergency braking, cornering, climbing, descending, riding etiquette in a group, proper gear selection, proper helmet fit, how to change a tube, basic bike maintenance, and lots more.
All you need to bring is your road bike in good working order, your helmet, a water bottle, your sense of fun, and wear comfy clothes (lycra not required!).
We will utilise the shared pathways that stretch through beautiful, leafy parklands, and as the course progresses, you will enjoy the quiet suburban streets of Elanora, and the beautiful Tallebudgera and Currumbin Valleys.

About me: My name is Sheridan. Together with my husband, Terry, we co-own Storm Cycles bike shop at Tugun. I am an AustCycle Skills Coach, and am NOT (and never will be) an elite cyclist, but I am passionate about riding, and about increasing the number of ladies who find pure joy and excitement from riding a bike. I have ridden mountain bikes, road bikes, cyclocross bikes, cruiser bikes, and hybrid bikes. I can’t decide which I prefer, but am happy to keep undertaking research (by riding constantly) in an effort to solve that mystery one day.
